RentTruth ("we", "us", "our") is a rental transparency platform that allows tenants to share verified reviews of rental properties. We are operated by Tornike Lubyk, based in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States. Contact us at info@renttruth.app.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information when you use RentTruth:
- Account information: Name, email address, and profile photo when you register
- Review content: Text, scores, and tags you submit as part of property reviews
- Verification documents: Government ID and proof of residency uploaded during review submission (encrypted, never shown publicly)
- Location data: Approximate location used to show nearby properties — not stored permanently
- Address searches: Property addresses you search for within the app
- Device information: Device type, operating system, and app version for diagnostics
- Usage data: Features you use and interactions within the app, used to improve the service
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the RentTruth service
- To verify your identity and review eligibility before publishing reviews
- To moderate and approve submitted reviews
- To send email notifications about your review status
- To respond to disputes submitted by landlords
- To improve the app based on usage patterns
- To comply with legal obligations
4. What We Do NOT Do
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or third-party marketers — ever.
- We do not sell your personal information to any third party
- We do not show your verification documents to landlords, other users, or the public
- We do not use your location data beyond showing you nearby properties
- We do not store your precise GPS coordinates
- We do not serve targeted advertisements
5. Verification Documents
When you submit a review, we require identity verification documents (such as a government-issued ID and proof of residency). These documents are:
- Encrypted in transit and at rest
- Accessible only to RentTruth moderators for verification purposes
- Never shown to landlords, property owners, or other users
- Deleted after verification is complete, upon request
6. Third-Party Services
RentTruth uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
- Supabase — Database and authentication hosting
- Google Maps — Map display and address search
- Google Sign-In / Apple Sign-In — Optional social authentication
- Expo / EAS — App build and update infrastructure
7. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Reviews you submit remain on the platform unless removed by our moderation team or at your request. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting info@renttruth.app.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Object to certain processing of your data
- Export your data in a portable format

9. Children's Privacy
RentTruth is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has submitted data to us, please contact us immediately.
